Abnormal?

A question that I have recived quite offen latetly from different people and different places is a pretty easy one.
- Do you have a girlfriend?
And when I answer the simple question with a simple No answer... For some odd reason I always get the counter question
- How come?

Are you supposed to have one automaticly?
Is that what defines you as a social person?
Is it obvious that you should have a relationship?
Is that what counts for you to be a "normal" person?
A relationship?
I´ve been living here in Praha for 9 months this coming week.
And some persons seems to think that you should have a girlfriend after a 2-3 months. Like it is some kind of social reform.
You move, you get a work permit, an employment, an apartment and of course the "girlfriend".
Why is it like that?
Why isn´t it accepted to be single?
Or maybe it is accepted, but it is more, why are you looked upon as kind of strange if you don´t have one?
Like that there is something wrong with you..
If there is a problem with you..
Or like they wonder what the problem is with me since I
don´t have one.
The truth?
I´m not looking.
Not at all.

But people seems to be in a hurry these days. Like they need to feel needed by someone. They need to get confirmed.
Haven´t really figured that one out.
Why are people like that?
Why is this needing for feeling love so necessary?
Why are they so desperatly trying to find it?
Is it the only thing that matters these days?
Or is it just to get the comfort of hiding?
That the world are so ugly today that you need that place to run to?
I admit that I sometimes feel like I wanna hide.
But it dosen´t make me a Lovehunter.
I´m not looking for love.
Even that those two are great Whitesnake songs.
Not even searching for it.
If it is there, I guess it have to find me.
I´m not in a hurry at all.
Or more or less I don´t feel like wasting my energy on finding it.
If that makes me abnormal.
